Sculptural Flowers with Kim Fields.... Beginning to Intermediate Level One Day Course $282.50 This one day class will set you on a path of making sculptural flower elements for a variety of applications... brooches, make them with stems, a focal on a necklace... Where does your imagination take you when thinking of how to add these beautiful flowers to your jewelry making or think of how many people will want to buy them to integrate into their creative endeavors! Or how can YOU apply these techniques to your other flameworking ideas?? This is going to be FUN!!!
This workshop is designed to strengthen your skills as a beadmaker and assist you in achieving your own unique sculptual floral designs. Techniques will include assembling canes, color mixing and overlays, and creating complex components and "controlled application of stringers and dots" Stringer Control Lessons! yeah. We will make a wide variety of single and multi-petal flowers and several different types of leaves and seed pods.
DATE: Thurs. June 24th, 2010 (2 seats available) TIME: 10:00 am to 6:00pm* (incl. lunch break) *Class may run long so be prepared to stay at least 1 hour late.
FEE: $282.50 (all glass, supplies and specialized tools provided)** $141.25 due at registration, $141.25 balance due on June 15th. REQUIREMENTS: This is an beginning to intermediate level class. You must have a minimum of 20 hours of experience on a dual fuel (oxygen/propane) torch system. Kim is a great instructor and will happily take beginners in this class but if you want to get in some practice before class ask Deb to suggest some technique practices.
Must have reviewed the Glass Firenze Liability Waiver and "Class Policies" before registering, and agree to provide a signed liability waiver before start of class if one is not already on file. Must be at least 18 years of age.
BRING:Something for the lunch buffet - Notebook - Pen/Pencil - Your Favorite Tools or Didy Glasses if you'd like (mark any tools you bring to the studio). All basic and any specialized tools required for the class will be supplied. **Note on Mandrels and Bead Release: I do my best to provide you with reliable bead release for classes. In this class Kim has requested I use Fusion Bead Release as this is the release she has the best success with in crafting birds. We will be using 3/32" mandrels. IF... you would like you may provide your own dipped mandrels with the release you prefer using. If you do bring your own mandrels please let me know so we can keep things separate. If you bring your own dipped mandrels and do not have success with them with these techniques, there will be studio dipped mandrels at your disposal. |
