Beginning Lampwork Classes in Alaska An Important Note for your consideration:
If you are interested in a class date "sign-up sooner rather than later." If it is a couple weeks away from a class and no one has signed up I may cancel the class to better utilize the studio time. $175.00 (includes all supplies) REQUIREMENTS: Must have reviewed the Glass Firenze Liability Waiver and agree to provide a signed copy before start of class. Must be at least 18 years of age or be accompanied by parent.  YES! You can learn to make your own glass beads!In this two day, tons of fun, beginner's bead making class you will be introduced to the "Amazing Art of Lampwork Beads." After this class you qualify to attend Open Torching and other Lampworking Classes at Glass Firenze Day One: Will cover safety, glass terminology, and studio utilization. We begin on the torch by pulling stringer, making round beads, basic bead decoration with dots and lines, and bead shaping and manipulation. The last hour of class will be spent at the torch practicing what you have learned with my coaching. Day Two: Will continue your beadmaking journey with exploring frits, creating twisties , using silver leaf, and further instruction on stringer and cane application. There is a lot of flexibility to this day with demo's based on your interest. I will also demo a sculptural piece. The last hour will be spent at the torch practicing what you have learned with my coaching. Before Registering for this Class You Must: 1. Download the "General Student Package," review the Glass Firenze Liability Waiver and agree to bring a signed copy to the class along with the other paperwork in the Student Package. 2. Review the "Class Policies." 3. Make payment online, or by sending in the Student Package with a check or the credit card form filled out. 4. You must be 18 years of age or older to attend a class at Glass Firenze. Those 17 and under must call before registering and require a parents signature on the waiver.
